Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

The cover design for Patrick Süskind’s novel Perfume: The Story of a Murderer was created as a part of BA Graphic Design curriculum and an entry for Penguin Book Awards competition. 

The design and art work echo the story’s malevolent atmosphere, abstractly illustrating an idea of a bottled scent of a woman. The art work is supported by classic 18th Century style typography, matching the time period of when the events of the novel take place.
